Based on a general and exploratory characterization of the Tocantins Amazon, the objective is to examine the implementation of the full-time education policy, as expressed in Goal 6 of the National Education Plan (PNE/2014-2025), in the Amazon-Tocantins municipalities, identifying limits, challenges, and possibilities for the effective implementation of full-time integral education in this territory. In terms of method and methodology, the study is based on the perspective of historical-dialectical materialism, employing a literature review and empirical-documentary research. The Amazon encompasses one of the world’s greatest biodiversities and harbors a plurality of specific characteristics that delineate distinct Amazonian realities, which cannot be ignored in management processes and in the implementation of public policies. The text emphasizes that the educational inequalities observed in the groups of Tocantins municipalities reflect broader socioeconomic inequalities. These socioeconomic characteristics represent challenges that likely cannot be overcome without structural improvements. The information also indicates that the implementation of all-day schooling in Tocantins, in compliance with the PNE Goal, represents a common challenge for all its municipalities and regions. Integral education is presented as an essential approach for preserving the traditions and biodiversity of the Amazon. Within a critical perspective on integral education lie the possibilities for pursuing social transformation. The effective realization of this educational conception implies confronting multiple limiting factors-both internal and external to the field of education—and advocating for more robust initiatives based on collaboration, territorialization, intersectorality, and collectivity, under public and democratic management.
