Abstract

Full-Time Comprehensive Education has been adopted as a strategy to expand the right to education and reduce social inequalities, especially in vulnerable regions. However, the effectiveness of this policy may vary according to public management, school infrastructure and community involvement. In view of this, the present study presented an educational panorama regarding Full-Time enrollments in the Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education stages, in the State of São Paulo, Greater ABC Paulista, with the aim of problematizing and reflecting on the challenges of implementing Full-Time Comprehensive Education in this location. The literature review was based on authors such as Arroyo (2012) and Moll (2010), who discuss Integral Education as a right and its relationship with the subject's lifelong education. Furthermore, national policies, such as the Mais Educação Program and Ministry of Education guidelines, were consulted to understand the context of this implementation. To encourage the issues raised, the research used a qualitative and quantitative approach, with a comparative method, using the 2023 School Census, released by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), as a source for data collection. Preliminary results indicate that although there is recognition of the importance of Integral Education, especially regarding issues of social vulnerability, the Greater ABC Paulista region still needs to increase its enrollment.
