Abstract

This article presents some considerations of the research carried out based on the work of a master's thesis in education on autonomy and generative artificial intelligence. In this way, we began to consider as a research problem, what are the possible relationships between generative artificial intelligence and autonomy in education?  This work is based on a literature review, combined with documentary analysis, considering as a theoretical reference the writings on education by Friedrich Nietzsche in addition to some of his commentators, the guidelines of the 2018 National Common Curricular Base, of the 2019 Beijing Consensus on Artificial Intelligence and Education reference document, especially in its indications about lifelong learning, as well as UNESCO reports that problematize aspects of artificial intelligence in education. To answer this problem, we turn to the notion of autonomy and education of Friedrich Nietzsche, this German philosopher who makes us reflect on the integral formation of individuals, a notion of training that goes beyond school or cultural instruction, but a continuous form of constitution and self-improvement. Thinking about these characteristics and from a contemporary scenario of interactions with generative artificial intelligence in everyday school life, we seek to reflect on artificial intelligence and education and the perspective of lifelong learning. Qualitative and exploratory in nature, this essay aims to make contributions to the fields of education and artificial intelligence.

Felipe Miranda, Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso (UFMT)

Graduated in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2018). Ethics Specialist (PUCPR). Currently studying a Master's degree in Education and a Degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), researcher in the School Organization, Training and Pedagogical Practices research line. Student member of the Study Group Laboratory for Studies on Information and Communication Technologies in Education - LêTECE/UFMT. He has worked since 2016 as a philosophy teacher, where since 2020 in the public education network of the State of Mato Grosso. He is interested in the following areas: Ethics, Philosophy of Education, Anthropology and Digital Culture, Information and communication technologies and Artificial Intelligence. He has experience as a guiding professor for ICJR scientific initiation (2022, 2024), with financial support from the Mato Grosso State Research Support Foundation (FAPEMAT). is the creator and coordinator of the free study group on education and artificial intelligence - GELE.IA

Cristiano Maciel, Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso (UFMT)

Cristiano Maciel holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (1995), a Specialization in Educational Assessment from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (1998), a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1997) and a PhD in Computer Science from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), with an internship at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal (2008). Postdoctoral degree at California State Polytechnic University - Pomona, in Computer Information System at the College of Business Administration. He has both teaching and administrative experience and has published in the areas of Computer Science and Education. He is currently Associate Professor IV at the Computing Institute of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), professor of the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) and the Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFNIT), researcher at the Laboratory of Interactive Virtual Environments (LAVI) and Laboratory of Studies on Information and Communication Technologies in Education (LeTECE).
