This reflective article considers the existence of a gap in research carried out in the field of education for some specific topics. Over the years, authors have pointed out that the field of full-time education in Brazil is marked by a strong compensatory nature, since its actions are aimed especially at socially vulnerable audiences. The purpose of this is to contribute to the understanding of this dynamic by reiterating the presence of full-time students and the urgency of expanding educational times and spaces, based on the integration of social policies, aimed at a specific audience. To this end, legislative studies and theoretical reviews are carried out related to the issue in question: the existence of a student who demands full-time educational practices.
