The text in question presents the results of two academic research studies on the theme of Integral Education, collectively conducted by the authors between 2017 and 2021 within the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The investigations aimed to analyze the potential of the curriculum and curricular integration as pathways to holistic human development, using four programs and/or projects considered benchmarks in Brazil as empirical fields. The research was grounded in the cultural-historical approach, coupled with a set of empirical procedures, including documentary analysis and interviews. The results show that, despite other challenges, programs and projects that mobilize well-structured curricula, substantially integrated, and supported by a consistent theoretical approach, can represent an interesting path toward achieving holistic human development.
