ENTRE VEREDAS E AVENIDAS, UMA IMAGEM DE BRASIL PERMANECE

Resumo

Estudo das obras de Guimarães Rosa e Rubem Fonseca focado na ruptura que este estabelece com aquele. Ruptura intrinsecamente ligada à representação dos espaços rural e urbano que cada um empreendeu. As descontinuidades observadas entre ambos são consideradas indício de desgaste de uma vasta tradição literária empenhada em representar, de maneira ufana ou crítica, mas sempre hegemônica, uma identidade nacional que sintetizasse a heterogeneidade cultural do país. Não obstante, a permanência que se constata em certas manifestações de violência presentes em muitos de seus enredos revela uma imagem de Brasil que permanece quase inalterada.

BETWEEN TRAILS AND AVENUES, AN IMAGE OF BRAZIL REMAINS THE SAME

The study of Guimarães Rosa‟s and Rubem Fonseca‟s works focuses the rupture that Fonseca establishes with Rosa. This rupture is intrinsically linked to the representation of the country, by Rosa, and the city, by Fonseca. The discontinuities observed between both are considered indication of deterioration of a vast literary tradition engaged to represent, of way boast or critic, but always hegemonic, a national identity that synthesized the cultural heterogeneity of the country. Though, the permanence that evidences in certain manifestations of violence presents in many of their stories discloses an image of Brazil that remains almost unchanged.
