AUTO-EXÍLIO: FUGA PARA UM ALÉM INEXISTENTE

Resumo

Este trabalho tem por objetivo tratar do auto-exílio como um movimento de deslocamento voluntário que pode ocorrer de um espaço real, concreto, para um espaço etéreo, não-palpável, visto o sujeito pretender
fugir de um mundo que o oprime. Para verificar isso, analisaremos o conto “Um mentiroso, aquele velho”, do escritor Moacyr Scliar, sob a perspectiva da carnavalização e da ironia, estratégias discursivas que questionam
— aquela por meio do “sonho” enquanto transcendência para uma “longínqua estrela desconhecida” e essa, por meio da argumentação indireta do autor implícito — a intolerância que um sujeito empreende ao outro e que, por
conseguinte, motiva o auto-exílio de um deles no mencionado espaço etéreo.

SELF-EXILE: ESCAPE TO A NON-EXISTING BEYOND

The purpose of this paper is to discuss self-exile as a voluntary dislocation movement which can occur from a concrete, real place to an ethereal, non-palpable one, because the subject intends to escape from a
world that weighs on her/him. Short-story “Um mentiroso, aquele velho”, by Brazilian writer Moacyr Scliar, is analyzed from the perspective of carnivalization and irony, discursive strategies that put into question — the first through dream as transcendence to a “far-off unknown star”, and the second, through the author’s implicit indirect argumentation — the intolerance that one may impose on someone else, inducing him or her into selfexile to one such ethereal places.
