DE OLHOS BEM ABERTOS OU MUITO ALÉM DO REALISMO: VASOS COMUNICANTES ENTRE AS ESTÉTICAS DE PASOLINI E GLAUBER ROCHA

Resumo

O ensaio pretende discorrer sobre os modos de representação da realidade de dois cineastas que produziram obras simultâneas, Pier Paolo Pasolini e Glauber Rocha, entre os anos 60 e 70 do século XX. Tendo em vista o caráter polêmico e revolucionário destes dois autores, tentaremos entender como que operam com o conceito de “efeito-de-realidade” de Fredric Jameson em suas linguagens cinematográficas, enquanto discursos de resistência ao mundo do capitalismo avançado frente à cultura de seus países de origem: respectivamente, a cultura italiana e a brasileira. Para tanto, investigaremos o caráter de resistência cultural das obras de Glauber e Pasolini a partir dos pressupostos iniciais do realismo literário e de seus desdobramentos tardios nas linguagens cinematográficas do século XX, tais como, o Neorrea-lismo italiano e o Cinema Novo brasileiro.

EYES WIDE OPEN OR BEYOND THE REALISM: COMMUNICATING VESSELS BETWEEN THE AESTHETICS OF PASOLINI AND GLAUBER ROCHA

This essay aims to discuss the ways of representing reality of two filmmakers who have produced their works simultaneously, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Glauber Rocha, between the 60‟s and 70‟s years of the twentieth century. Given the controversial and revolutionary character of these two authors, we will try to understand how they operate the concept of "reality-effect" of Fredric Jameson in his cinematographic languages as discourses of resistance to the world of advanced capitalism in the culture of their own countries, respectively, the Italian and the Brazilian culture. Thus, we will investigate the character of cultural resistance in Glauber‟s and Pasolini‟s works from the initial assumptions of the literary realism and its late developments in the twentieth century cinematographic languages, such as the Italian Neo-realism and the Brazilian Cinema Novo.
