O MITO DE FAUSTO, DA LITERATURA AO CINEMA: UMA LEITURA CONTRASTIVA DE CORAÇÃO SATÂNICO E FAUSTO 5.0

Resumo

Nas literaturas e culturas ocidentais, o mito de Fausto cumpre a função de repre-sentar o perpétuo embate do ser humano contra sua condição limitada e finita, em permanente confronto com seus desmedidos e inesgotáveis desejos. Este trabalho analisa as manifestações do mito de Fausto na obra homônima de Goethe e nos filmes Coração Satânico (1987) e Fausto 5.0 (2001), com base na teoria da tradução intersemiótica. Dedica-se especial atenção ao contexto e aos sistemas culturais em que se produziram essas duas versões cinematográfi-cas do célebre clássico literário de inspiração popular.

THE FAUST MYTH, LITERATURE TO CINEMA: A CONTRASTIVE READING OF CORAÇÃO SATÂNICO AND FAUSTO 5.0

In the western literature and culture, the Faust myth plays the essential role of representing the everlasting struggle of the human being facing his limited and finite condi-tion, while confronting his immeasurable and infinite desires. This work analyses the Faust myth manifestations through the homonym work written by Goethe and the movies Angel Heart (1987) and Faust 5.0 (2001), based on the intersemiotic translation theory. Special attention will be paid to the movies production context, as well as the cultural systems in which were produced both film versions of this celebrated literary classic from popular inspi-ration.
